Our Business Sustainability Programs are guided by a recognized and committed faculty from reputed business schools around Europe as well as from thought-leaders, experts and facilitators from business, start-ups, and non-governmental organizations.

Faculty

The executive business sustainability programs  by Katrin Muff and Thomas Dyllick of the Institute for Business Sustainability provide cross-cultural and cross-sectorial practical experiences. Some of the professionals teaching during the Diploma in Advanced Sustainability (DAS) and Certificate in Business Sustainability (CAS) are presented below.

Katrin Muff

Katrin Muff is a confirmed thought leader in the space of business sustainability and responsibility and how to develop powerful educational spaces for creating change agents able to create and transform organizations to enhance their positive impact for the world. She teaches, consults, speaks and is active on boards. Since the Diploma in Advanced Sustainability (DAS) program has been created in 2011, it is jointly directed by Katrin and Thomas Dyllick ever since. Until 2018 she helped transform Business School Lausanne, where she acted as Dean from 2008 to 2015.

Thomas Dyllick

Since October 2019 Thomas Dyllick runs the Institute for Business Sustainability located in Lucerne, Switzerland, together with Katrin Muff. Thomas has been at the University of St. Gallen since 1974. First as a student, graduating with a  PhD in 1982, then as a Professor in Sustainability Management and Managing Director of the Institute for Economy and the Environment (IWÖ-HSG), which he co-founded  in 1992. From 2001-2003 he was Dean of the Management Department and from 2003-2011 University Vice-President in charge of teaching and quality development.

Stefan Gara

Stefan Gara is member of the Vienna City Council and Provincial Parliament. His political field of expertise is urban planning, housing, energy & climate protection, innovation & digitization and public health. He is co-founder and former director of ETA Environmental Management GmbH a leading Austrian consultancy firm focusing on sustainable development and business innovation, CSR, smart cities and energy & mobility strategies. 

Michael Hathorn

Michael Hathorn

Michael Hathorn is a senior partner of OPTIMIS Learning, where he focuses on sustainable organizational strategy and executive development. Previously working for the investment management firm, Capital International, he founded and headed the firm’s Learning and Organizational Development function for the European businesses. He is a contributor to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and is a partner at the International Center for Corporate governance.

Claudia Kranefuss

Claudia Kranefuss, Trainer and Coach since 2000, works with individuals, teams and organizations in very different areas. Her expertise lies in: developing the human potential, team building, personal branding, leadership-development and organizational change with various corporates, start-ups, small companies and schools. In 2007 she was Co-Founder for ‘Extramile Academy for Coaching’ in Amsterdam. Before she moved to coaching she was a publisher and manager in international publishing houses.

Niels Rot

Niels Rot is a co-founder of Impact Hub Zürich, the premier entrepreneurship & innovation for impact community in Switzerland. In 2016, Niels is also co-founder of STRIDE Learning, an unSchool for Entrepreneurial Leadership and partner of the Business School Lausanne. Alongside his entrepreneurial career, Niels has served as mentor for startups such as Eaternity and Wildbiene+Partner. Currently Niels works part-time at ETH Zurich in strategic development.

Barbara Dubach

Barbara Dubach

With engageability, her company created in 2010, Barbara Dubach enables engagement and acceleration for profit and non-profit organizations. Her business experience includes many years as Senior Vice President for Sustainable Development Coordination at LafargeHolcim (formerly Holcim), at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) as Director Communication and Advocacy and at the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment.

Karina Storinggaard

Karina is a learner, educator, and multi-preneur, with a 10-year career as a marketing manager in the sporting goods / shoe industry (Intersport/ MBT/ The Athlete’s Foot). She has spent 8 years in the digital / entrepreneurial scene where she is still partly active (shape/thinkyellow). As part of her portfolio today, she serves as board member (SportySport Denmark & Impact Hub ZH AG), teaches entrepreneurship and consults and factiliate NGOs, corporates and startups.

Joerg S. Hofstetter,  Faculty of das.education Business Sustainability Leadership Programs

Joerg S. Hofstetter

Joerg S. Hofstetter is a specialist in supply chain management and sustainability at the Operations Management and Information Systems Department of Kedge Business School in Bordeaux, France. He previously was at the Chair of Logistics Management of the University of St.Gallen. Management positions include Lufthansa Cargo, ITT Automotive Inc. and Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering and Organisation (IAO).

Dimitri Bellas

Dimitri Bellas is the sustainability expert within the Index Solutions team at Credit Suisse Asset Management. At the same time, he is also heading the product specialist team covering large international and French-speaking institutional clients in Switzerland. Before joining Credit Suisse in 2014, Dimitri held several positions in various financial institutions and international organizations.
